Our mission is to empower children with the desire to learn and to succeed in school now and in the future.

Our Business

We moved to Petaluma in 1986 and Patty started the tutoring business on a small scale by helping neighborhood kids with their reading.

Through word-of-mouth and referrals from counselors and teachers, the business has expanded into working with students from the majority of Petaluma schools, primary, middle, and secondary.

Patty has additionally worked as a classroom aide in both the Old Adobe District and Petaluma School District.

In 1992 Dave joined in the business and started working with high school students.

Their own son, Dennis, went to La Tercera School and graduated from Casa Grande High School.

Who We Are

Patty Murphy earned her B.S. in Science and Psychology from the State University of New York in Buffalo. For the past 6 years has experience with special Ed, including autism, for the Old Adobe and Petaluma School district.

Dave Murphy earned his B.A. in Social Sciences from California State University at Stanislaus and is currently working on his M.A. in History from Sonoma State University. He was a meteorologist in the US Navy for 5 years.
